    I'm told it has something to do with the case between Omega watches and Costco heading to the supreme court and could basically mean that you don't have the right to sell any used items that you own if they were imported. Anybody know about this?

    That just sounds stupid.

    Most consumer good are imported, mostly from China, these days.

    The law is not about re-sale of imported goods, even though that's what is being reported.

    The true goal of this law is an attempt to outlaw "jailbreaking" or "rooting" of major cell-provider companies phones. The current case rulings state that since the consumer owns the phone, they can do what they want to the programming. Rooting phones costs cell-phone companies an estimated 700 million a year, and they want that money.
