Lots of great 9mm compacts out there today... but which ones stand out.
These come to mind for me...

    Glock 19
    M&P 2.0 compact
    CZ PCR
    Walther ppq
What are some others that have impressed you?

None of them make sense to me. Silly in-between size.
    I'll take a full-size or actual compact.

P30SK and VP9SK aren't really subcompacts, and probably should be considered for this list. Between the 26 and 19 in size, closer to the 19 'compact' bracket. For their size they're limited wrt: capacity, but some still prefer them.

Your 26 looks exactly like mine. Love the Talon grip too.

Actually I scavenged those photos from a thread posted by 'fullmetal1911' last june.

    https://www.glocktalk.com/threads/new-hk-vp9sk-vs-glock-sub-compact-and-compact-pistols.1665536/

Only Glock I own right now is a 41. I've been thinking about a new carry piece with more capacity than my Kahr pm9 so this topic interests me. I'm waiting until the Gen5 version of the G26 comes out before doing anything, and I'm also grappling with a case of AK fever right now. Not a good time for buying AK's, will break the bank if I give in.

My two most carried are my G26 and that Sig P938. What a great carry gun! Tucks nice and secure inside any pocket in my Galco, no printing, light enough I hardly know it’s there, shoots well, and eats everything ammo related I can throw at it. And based on the 1911 platform!

I also post on KimberTalk as OldDad. I will post a range report there when I get the gun (at my age, I hope I live long enough to actually get it.) I ordered it about 2 weeks before Christmas. Word from Kimber is that it should arrive here in about 2 weeks from today. :(

And that is what is great about the market today, you can have what works for you and seems silly to me, and vice versa.

IMG_20171002_072454.jpg In a bold move for 2018, Smith and Wesson is introducing the Barrier, a TDA single stack 9mm featuring an aluminum frame with steel slide, 8+1 capacity.
Weighing 25oz, it bridges the gap between comfortable carry and great shootability, unlike cheesy inexpensively produced polymer designs. It shoots like a full sized pistol, carries easily due to cutting edge slimline design. Ambi safety/decocker for weird DA first shot (it's not that bad!!!)
Look for it at your LGS , someday.
