Today it was 18 degrees F and I saw two guys wearing basket ball shorts within an hour at the hotdog shop. This was at 9 a.m. tom. :cold:

I never was 'that guy' that wore shorts (especially 'basketball shorts') , except when on vacation, or lounging around the house.

I used to be 'that guy' that shoveled snow with just a t-shirt and a thin sweatshirt and a pair of jeans.
(There's NOTHING worse than working up a sweat while being under heavy clothes, and stopping and the sweat turns to frost and ice. Seriously.)
If I stop the physical workout, I'll step into the garage where it's mostly warm, or put on a Duluth Trading Co. "Grab Jacket".

Since I've lost almost 50 lbs (and have kept it off for a year - some of which is muscle mass), when I go to the mailbox at the end of the driveway, I'm in sweatpants and a hooded sweatshirt.

And there is truth to the statement that us FAT GUYS don't get cold, due to the fat layers over the blood vessels.

At my last job in a national laboratory, the best parking for me meant I had to walk through the classified/tech area about 700 yds to my office.

There was one guy I saw a large percentage of the time who was wearing shorts, boots and just a t-shirt on days when I wore a medium weight jacket and was happy I had it. Either an idiot or he had a very warm body temp.

As an aside, he was not all all fat. Don

Basketball shorts look stupid no matter if you're fat or not.

    Coats wear shorts ?

I’ll often shovel the driveway while in shorts , right after I return from the gym, it’s not cold at all , my body is a well regulated machine !

if it’s windy or much below 20 and it’ll take awhile I’ll throw on jeans . Often I’ll walk to the mail box barefoot ,as I’m barefoot and in shorts inside all winter .

This year here in Western Ny along Lake Ontario, I’ve seldom needed more then a long underwear top and a hoodie while outside .

Remember being at a trail head observation point on the south rim of tge Grand Canyon late fall early winter and this guy came up the trail wearing heavy coat and shorts. Asked about it and was told that legs generate tremendous heat in climbing.
