OK, a lot of people may have a lot of variations. But most have at least one big thing that if they could go back in time and do, or undo, they would want to.

Maybe something you sold, or didnt buy, a job you should have taken, a girl you should have kissed. Maybe it would have changed your life, maybe not.

Whats the one biggest mistake you have ever made in life?

I would say not getting a business major and then promptly getting a masters in business with a focus in operations management.

    Would you care to share?

I would not considered to be mistake but regrets, I would say in general to not take care me first.

I wish I would have shipped to the Navy when I signed up. I was breaking up with a girlfriend so I was just moving my enlistment plans up a year. I joined, got to pick a great job (mostly due to my ASVAB skills) and did delayed enlistment for 3 months. When it came time to sign the contract she and I had gotten back together so I decided not to go because she didn't want me to.

Biggest mistake of my life. I can't even remember what she looks like, now.

It would be difficult to pin down the biggest but I am sure it involved a woman.

    I let her go.

I have to live with it every single day of my life knowing there isn't another one that will ever compare.

I'm reminded of it every minute, of every day, and there is no greater pain that can be experienced.

Sounds similar to my story, but I took the other road.

Same situation, signed up for Navy on DEP, got great career path due to high ASVAB score, got a job at a car dealership (at 18 yrs old) selling new cars, taking home camaros and corvettes every night, new gf etc..became BMOC, or so I thought.

When the recruiter called and said it's time to go to bootcamp, I politely told him no-thanks. He persisted on a daily basis, and it got to the point I told him to F-Off. He threatened me with calling the S.O. to come arrest me etc..

Long story shorter, he called my dad (whom I respected very much) for support, dad came over to my pad one night with a 12 pack of beer, for a father-son-heart-to-heart. The gist of the talk was "selling cars was a job, not a career". "You need a trade, a career, something to fall back on." "What are you gonna do when car sales go into a slump?" etc, etc...etc.

He had a point, and this was the friday before my monday departure to boot camp. I relented and went, and my parents took care of all of my personal stuff, packing up my apt, my vehicle etc..

Consider myself very successful now, dont' know how/if things would have been different if I'd have stayed at home.

    Not really a "mistake"...but a major regret...

I really wish I'd have stayed on top of my physical condition throughout the last 10 years or so.

I guess the mistake would've been to have let living out of a suitcase and eating out all the time basically set me up for the remainder of my life to be lived with a chronic condition.

Not staying in college full-time and finishing on time. Going to work full-time too young. I started working full-time at 19. That job is long gone, I still haven't finished my degree.

Big time mistakes on both of these for me.

If I knew then what I know now these are two things that I would have done differently, big time. Not that I'm not happy with where I'm at now, but those are two things that would have been done differently.

I regret not taking better care of myself, and I wish I would have tried harder in school, and I wish I would have been more financially responsible when I was younger.
