I have Webroot SpySweeper as well as SpyBot and AdAware. I also run Webroot's Spy Audit. When I run this last program, it shows com.com Cookie. This cookie remains even after running the prior listed anti-spyware programs. The SpyAudit result screen has a "remove" button which, after pressing, goes to a buy SpySweeper screen. How can they ask you to purchase a program already running and with the latest updates? What's going on with Webroot?

I've never heard of com.com and neither has Google.

Wanna bet that there's a REASON why the only scanner that can find that file is the one that wants you to pay money?!?

Wanna bet that file was a part of the Spy Audit install?!

I'd forget about it unless there's something screwing up Windows...it sounds like a hoax to me.

And, BTW, if it IS a cookie, setting Firefox to 'Allow Cookies Only For Originating Site' will keep it from causing any problems.

    If you use IE....

    Well, lots of luck, pal.

I use the same 3 as well. Each time I leave the computer I run SBot or Ada. so I run them about 3x's a day. I run SSweeper while asleep every night. I've been doing this over a year.
I have never seen or heard of com.com!
