And thank you for your service. I loved Leonard Wood because of the hunting and fishing. I didn't get much free time as a Drill Sergeant but for the 2 years I spent as a Sapper Instructor, I spent a lot of time hunting deer, rabbits, turkeys etc, and the fishing is out of this world.

Many of the reasons after I got out of the military that I came back to this area!!! The hunting, fishing and our clear, spring fed rivers. I am retired now from the state of Missouri and get to do more of the outdoor stuff. Can’t imagine living anywhere else. A hard place to make a good living but a great place to live.

Joined September, 1962 and did basic at Ft Dix, New Jersey and was in basic during the Cuban Missal Crises, then to Ft Devens Mass for Training and then to Germany. I was there when Kennedy was killed! Discharged on Sept 1965. God Bless America!
