Have a lead locally on a supposedly lightly used, "near mint" Gen 1 Glock 17.

    Asking $450

Looks like it has tupperware box and one mag. What would be a good price?

I have no idea what it's "worth", but I'd give $500 for it in a heartbeat...

I offered him $400. Hoping he bites. I have a Gen 3 19, 17, and 34. Don't need this, but I know I could always sell it for at least what I pay for it.

Side note: Walmart employees look at you concerned when you ask to buy 15 100rd WWB of 9mm. :D

A very nice looking gen1 Glock 17, but I notice that the magazine is a later version, not the smaller, skinnier original gen1 magazine baseplate design. The newer magazines (gen2 and up) stick out more from the bottom of the grip and have a slightly thicker baseplate. Also, does this pistol have the black internals and non-captured recoil spring? This would indicate original gen1 factory parts, and not the upgraded internals, which are a bright metal color.
If the pistol has the original recoil spring and other parts, it will function best with +P ammo, which is closer to NATO spec.
It might be possible to find some examples of the gen1 magazines, but they are scarce.

That's in great shape. I would be willing to pay $500.00 for a first Gen Glock with the proper magazines (not newer ones)......only because I want one really bad and they are not easy to find.

Thank you for that info. If it does have the original springs, I can install the gen 3 recoil spring and guide rod without any issue correct?

Yes, it's an easy drop in. Just function test the pistol before trusting it for the street.

$500 is what I'd offer; the fact that it only has one magazine and no loading or cleaning tools lowers the price a bit

If you are afflicted with "Gen1 Fever", pay whatever price is asked, within reason. Gen1's in the condition depicted are indeed rare nowadays. There is NOTHING that feels like a Gen1. They are worth it.
