...all the shelves in Wal-Mart were bare and wouldn't be restocked?
Thought about this while at Cost Co when I was in Albq. yesterday with my son, girlfriend and her son. What would we do if we couldn't buy all of foods, medicines and such?
Having spent many summers on the rez as a kiddo, we always were what I guess many would call "Prepped up" cuz there was no running water and electricity. Luckly there was 'running food" (har!). But I must say, I'm somewhat under-prepped for my comfort level these days. I think I'd be okay for medical supplies ('cept for some antibiotics), good with ammo (I have plenty after 12 years of reloading), have some dry goods, just 1 20lb bag of beans and a couple of 20 lb bags of rice. Believe me, that being my college days diet, it goes faster than one would think. Me and my girlfriend made a deal that we each buy one prepping tool/need each paycheck. Sounds like a fine idea, but if the shelves were empty today? I'd feel like an idiot for think it couldn't happen to me.

Use the "Search" here for threads about the book "One Second After" - then you'll run out and buy food to store! :wow:

Yeah, plenty of stuff. Plus this thread should be killed for bad spelling.

In a way I agree, but I don't remember ever seeing any "beautiful people" shopping at Wal Mart.

Last month the power went out when I got home from work and, living alone, I found myself very uncomfortable with not having anything to do. Well, actually, I lit some candles and practiced guitar on me little Roland Cube battery amp. But I admit feeling a bit lost without my usual modern comforts: TV, electric guitars, music always playing, and internet.

Any longer and I would've started prepping brass up to reload. Guess I'd still have stuff to do, mostly to process what I'm gonna do next.

I think all the beautiful peoples' panic is what turns 'em into zombies.

Good question! Time to start gardening I suppose.

Park the vehicles, lock up my possessions and fortify my home/yard, and make sure the bicycle tires are aired up and sidearm loaded and ready to go!

Where I live we get a lot of snow...Just the rumor of serious lake effect or a nasty nor'easter sends my suburbanite neighbors running to the grocery store...

I have enough to keep us and my 3 dogs going, and then some...

I don't suppose I have enough to last forever in a TEOTWAWKI type deal, but I'd be OK for a while...

    P.S. I could always eat my dogs...if they don't eat me first...:tongueout:
