I want to paint my mag floor plates. Does anything react negatively with grip or mag polymer? I want to use nail polish. Thank you.

I use the spray paints rated for plastics. Tons of colors to choose from.

I’ve painted lots of polymer using solvent based coatings followed by an hour in an oven. No issues.

I’ve tried the same methods on some 3D printed crap and it melted.

You should be fine with nail polish.

    Krylon Fusion All-In-One™

A premium product that bonds to difficult surfaces such as plastics and ready-to-assemble furniture without sanding or priming. This product provides maximum rust protection for all outdoor projects and offers a broad color palette with multiple finishes and sheens for indoors and out.

Note: Countyguardian referred to spray paints rated for plastics! This is a good example (IMHO).

EDIT: this thread discusses coloring on magazines:

Numerous individuals state that nail polish worked fine. YMMV :)

Depending on what color you want, you can buy the blue, FDE, or orange floor plates and dye them the color you want. You can go darker but not lighter.

Not to be a dick but why would you use nail polish when a $4.99 can of krylon will hold up better and be A 1000 times easier to apply?

I was thinking nail polish would look better and I wouldn't have to dissemble them.

Don't use your Glock frame for kindling. Fire is prolly the only thing a Glock frame doesn't hold up well to.

Testors model paint. In use for the past 600 years. Cheap to buy, cheap to use, cheap to re-paint if it rubs off.

I know dozens of people who've used rattle-can paints (like Krylon) on their ARs and Pmags. No issues.

The Krylon Fusion works pretty well, better than I thought it would. I have painted mud flaps and plastic trim pieces on my truck with it along with other various items. Clean the surface good with dish soap/water, simple green/water or similar, let dry and have at it.

I’ve used nail polish to mark mags for decades. I have a jar of non-acetone nail polish remover I use to degrease or remove.

I agree. I like using the bright colors for sights.
...and you might get stared at in the checkout aisle if you buy nail polish.

Because Krylon doesn't come with Glitter? And it's harder to do a French manicure to your mags...

I used the Krylon for plastics on my G-17 Frame that that was to be a dedicated frame for my AA 22 Conversion.
An OD Green that didn't turn out quite the Green I wanted, looks more like a mint green. It now after several years of use is green, and black in the most used places looks more Cammo. Easy to find in the range bag. The only green one in the bag. I have thought about cleaning it off, but it will get there one of these days.

Paint markers are a favorite of mine. Come in May colors and is easy to apply exact. Great for the letters to be separate from the flat plate.
