What was your first Glock (gateway). I started with a Gen 3 Glock 26. Then a Gen 3 G19. Put on night sights and no mods (500 round trigger job). Presently considering a Gen 4 G30.

A beat up gen1 17 that was "thrown in" to even up a trade, this was during the magazine ban. I took it sold the mags bought a 10 round mag and beat the crap out of it trying to prove it was junk...... I could not make it fail without getting pretty crazy with the "testing" this was around 2000. I have had a glock of some kind for most of the years since.

I sold my Ruger P-85 in 1988 and bought a G-17, which I traded in on a G-21 a short time later. Although the G-21 was my second Glock, it was the one that made me take them seriously and 30 Glocks later, I only wish I would have had the money so I wouldn't have had to trade in the G-17.

    A gen3 26 was my first. Now I have a 42, 43, a gen2 19, and of course, another gen3 26 new in the box. Just in case.

    Gen2 23 that I acquired in 1999 and carried for years...still have it but it's been supplanted by a Gen3 19 since 2012.

Blued and walnut firearms guy (hated plastic guns of anykind) till I shot a glock in my CC class. G19. Bought one shortly thereafter. Still prefer blued & walnut, but you cant argue with success. :)

Glock 21. It was a big gun, and it didn't fit my medium hands. Was lucky to find someone who wanted to trade their G19 for a G21.

Prior to my 1st Glock, I wasn't a fan because I was tired of hearing about Glocks. Excluding my old friend (Bulgarian Makarov), all of sidearms are Glocks.

I first met a Glock when i was in the service; I was in Germany (then West Germany) at the Grafenveer (<-sp?) NATO training area. They had main battle tank/attack helo firing areas down to small arms ranges.

We were qualifying with M16's and .45's. This was when they still had the 1911's in use. The 1st Sgt came up and asked us if we wanted to shoot a plastic gun. We thought he was bs'ing. Enter Glock. From my memory, it did not have "17" on the slide. It was just Glock 9mm. They were owned by a NATO army, I think it was Norway but not sure. Anyway, I couldn't believe how smooth it was. This was in the early/mid 80's. Years later, I was in South Korea and read a article in a magazine (Popular Mechanics I think it was) and it described them as virtually indestructible. When I came back to CONUS, I found the 17/19 for sale in the Rod/Gun club on base (late 89 or 90).

My first Glock was G21. Still own every Glock I've bought except what I gifted to my bro and bro n law for Christmas. I suspect I have the disease. A few dozen now and still have not got everything I want lol.

G21SF. It doesn't fit my hand as well as Gen 4 guns do, but I love it.
