S&W Airweight J frame still the best back-up gun yet / Recently got a Sig 365 - very impressed - 100% reliable & accurate - perhaps as much as an evolution as Glock was in the 80's - time will tell.

In 1985, it was a Smith & Wesson Model 686 .357 magnum revolver, 4-inch with it was a Remington 870 shotgun. We upgraded to a Smith & Wesson 5906, 9mm in the 90’s.

My first civilian duty sidearm was this West German (JK code) SiG P226 in 9mm. 2yrs ago I had an armorer go through it and replace all the springs, sights, & grips. My first BUG was a S&W 940 J-Frame, also in 9mm. I didn’t buy that one back from the department.

I’d assume the trigger bar was also replaced at that time since it’s included in the parts kit but if you shoot it a lot, might be time again.
I believe sig calls for trigger bar replacement around 5k rounds.
I learned this the hard way when I had one break during a yearly qualification and then another guys P226 had a case/rim burst and blow the extractor out of the gun shortly after mine went down. That sucked as we both got dragged hard by the guys carrying Glocks.

I forgot to mention that the armorer also installed an SRT kit & short reach trigger.

I had him do much the same to my 2nd duty sidearm, a P226 40 cal.
