My first duty issued firearm was a trusty Smith & Wesson 6906.Mid 1990's. Loved that thing. Could crack open coconuts with it.

5906. Hated it. Mostly because our armoers went to the Hammerin Hank's School of Gunsmithing. Wood screws and loctite are okay for holding safety levers in, right?

During basic training and AIT we used M16A1"s but when I got to Fort Bragg, I was issued an XM16. I hated that worn out piece of crap. After a break in service, I was sent off to the Gulf war. My rifle was an M16A1 with the A2 barrel and handguards. I loved that rifle. It had a great trigger and was very accurate.
