For me, it's a close call between NAS Rota, Spain and MCAS Cherry Point, NC. I guess I have to give the nod to Cherry Point because I was a sergeant drawing BAQ and comrats, and I was sharing a condo with 2 other guys on Bogue Banks, which is a barrier island off the coast of Morehead City. The ocean was less than 75 yards from my door.

My favorite duty station was Charleston AFB, SC, from 1995 - 1999. Chucktown was a great place to wander around if you're into history, and the College of Charleston, which had a ~3-to-1 female-to-male ratio, made the nightlife downtown that much more enjoyable. There were also quite a few beaches in the area and other fun places like Savannah, GA, within a short driving distance.

One Battalion of Engineers. We had our own little mini-PX and NCO Club.

The only downside was we had to pull 24/7 gate duty.

    AF thread... ah well...

    Me either....

Sure loved my Phantoms -- they'll hurt you or kill you but damn, what a machine. Guess they gotr rid of them for a "better" airframe.
