I have the typical money burning a hole in my pocket coming in Feb, and I cant seem to decide on what I want. I currently have a Remington 700, Mossy 500, Ruger 10/22, and Glock 22. Thought about an AR (Stag Model 4) or maybe a Saiga in .308. I shot a Stag Model 2, but the charging handle on an AR kind of bugs me. Right before I shot an AK and loved the placement of theirs. I am also down for some pistols. Maybe not a super high end 1911. Currently thinking of the Desert Eagle 1911. Any other recommendations helpful. I also don't have to spend all the money, I dont mind having some more savings than I already put away. I was thinking I wanted a semi auto rifle (in .223 or .308)

I'm not sure how much one of these costs, but it's on my list:

Fifteen hundred samolians is enough to buy a COLT 6920 (or even a 6940). Why would you want to buy an off-brand (Stag)?

Pay now, or pay later. In the long run, I don't think it 'pays' to buy cheap guns. Always buy the best you can afford.

If COLT doesn't appeal to you because they're too stuck up or something, then at least consider a Daniel Defense.

Anything but a Stag... :puking: (Except maybe an Oly, or Bushie, or...)

And Saiga? SAIGA!?! (If you have to ask, probably best to never mind...)

    YMMV

Get a good Anschutz 22LR match rifle. Accuracy will change your whole approach to firearms ownership.

Re expensive 1911s -- I've shot my $625 S&W 1911 side by side an Ed Brown, a Wilson, Two Baers all at the same day at the range. The Brown has the nicest finish, the Baers had the tightest fit, The Wilson had the crispest trigger, but my nothing was more accurate than the S&W, and, with the external extractor, it was also more reliable than the Baer and the Brown.

I think the way to go with a 1911 is get a good chromoly frame and have one built up to YOUR specs by a master pistolsmith. Otherwise there's no need to spend more than $800.00

I had the same problem, I did my taxes on Jan 16th and I had that money spent the next day before I even got the check. It had been only 2 weeks since I picked up the first gun purchase of the year, and I was already wanting another. Went and looked at some Kimbers, came home and realized that I could actually *cringe* find something more useful, that I needed. So I built a new computer for work (photography/editing/graphic) and some fun on Flight Simulator...It really hurt not buying another pistol.

I think you'd regret the Desert Eagle purchase. (my opinion) It just doesn't seem like somrthing I'd use too much.

How about a used Springfield Professional?

I was thinking about that. I am liking the Springfield M1A loaded. I see that you can mount a scope using that side mount. Are those good enough to have a scope on. The zero doesnt change?

I have no idea. A friend of mine has one and loves it. I have always wanted one, but life, bills and baby were always pushed to the top of my priority list. Just trying to live vicariously through you, that's all!!!
