This weekend I came so close to getting a Glock 22. (Glad I waited but more on that later) So, I asked two very knowledgeable friends what too look for in picking out a new Glock. To which one replied: "look for 5 things. The letters G-L-O-C-K He then looked at a Glock very closely and said Yep this ones good Now I know Glock makes great pistols, but since parts are made by machines, and some machines can induce slight variation. For example machining bits get smaller as they are used, so machined parts will be slightly larger as the bit nears the end of its life With that in mind, and knowing that the barrel and Slide are still made of metal, surely there are at least a few things to check (in addition to looking for the 5 magic letters) Thanks, Now here is why I am glad I waited. Later that day I got to shoot a Glock 21, and all I can say is Sweet! It is very accurate and the larger grip was great. Now I want a 21.
If you can compare several together, look for the lightest and smoothest trigger pull, look for a smooth breech face,a snug slide to frame fit,and a barrel hood that has minimal movement when pushing it downward when lockup in battery.
Aug, Why would i be kidding when some will very more than others,a glock with a slide to frame fit on the tighter side is a better candidate for a future trigger job,via slide movement when pulling the trigger.
