I have a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911 that I bought new back in 2004 . Is it a series 70 or 80 ? I have heard that the series 80 1911's have the extra safety plunger and lots more things attached to the trigger mechanism . I have heard that these are not as crisp or good as the 70's which are supposed to have less parts and supposed to be better . What does my Mil-Spec have and which of the series is better ? I am a "glock" type guy but when it comes to detail stripping a 1911 , I am still new to it all . All I have did to my S.A. was remove the ILS and put in a new MSH by Wilson Combat that doesnt have the ILS (key lock) . Any help and information is appreciated .
