I know NYPD allows Kahr's (K-9) that are grandfathered in but no new ones. I heard Chicago PD approved them for back up and off duty, not sure though. Any large Police Departments approve them?

I think Kahr needs a stronger LE rep. All guns have problems from time to time but Kahr just needs a stronger LE prescence. I think they are at least as reliable as Glocks.

I have a Kahr PM9 (9mm)...I know it wouldn't be the model of choice for an LE Department. It has never missed a lick whenever I shot it. I use the cheap Wal-mart ammo and it loves it. It is a great pistol. I CCW it everyday in my front pocket, it's part of me getting dressed. However, if Glock made a 9mm the same physical size as my Kahr PM9, I'd be CCW the Glock. Therefore, if I was an LE officer and more apt to be in a gun-fight than average "Joe Citizen/Plumber", I wouldn't carry anything other than a Glock.

Again, my Kahr PM9 is a great pistol....That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!!!!

I do not know for sure, but I know two officers here locally that both carry the Kahr CW9 as their off duty weapon so Vancouver PD must allow them. I also know one Portland officer that carries a PM40 while off duty.
