This should go down in history as a giant waste of tax dollars.
Holder could set fire to the Fast and Furious documents in the White House Rose Garden while dancing naked around the fire and not generate this amount of interest.

Who cares whether or not a pro athlete used steroids?

Well, I agree, but that isn't what this trial was about.

So, does he and his lawyers get credit for a no hitter or a shutout? And we get to pay for the entire stadium's spectators.

Well apparently he didn't perjure himself to congress in that he was found not guilty.

Most of the athletes who denied using steroids were ultimately found guilty of lying to federal agents or congress and sent to jail. They were not found guilty of using drugs/steroids.

There is a lesson to be learned here for everybody. Never lie to the authorities. The way to do that is simply don't talk to them. You may take a public relations hit for not denying what ever they are accusing you of but they can't get you for lying later on which is a no brainer charge for them. That's what the 5th amendment is for. Don't say anything, demand proof.

He lied through his teeth. They just couldn't prove it.

He showed a lot of steroid rage. I always suspected him. His resurgence late in his career indicated it, too.

He lied and cheated on his wife with Mindy McCready. Do you really think he wouldn't lie to protect his legacy and a trip to the Hall. You're damn right he would.

At the end of the day, I couldn't care less, and congress had no business butting there nose into the issue of steroids.

Why does congress get to hold hearings and hand out subpoenas? They aren't a court of law.

It'll be interesting to see if only hitters from the steroid era get denied Hall membership. Surely, pitchers as well as hitters used performance enhancing drugs, too. Andy Pettitte , Clemens' old teammate and friend, tested positive for steroids.

The pitchers seemed to slip under the radar while all the suspicion was directed at the hitters.

I think they were trying to divert our attention away from the fact that they can't accomplish anything because they waste their time (and our money) on BS like this...and failed at it, too.

IMO, one of the biggest travesties in the history of this country. The fact that congress spent one dime and one second getting involved. Really ticks me off. :steamed:

    Retired, but not expired.
    Or why did Congress care?

I kind of assume most pro athletes are juiced, and I always figure most other people do, too.

Next, they will investigate rumours of marijuana usage by rap artists.
