Education is a wonderful thing but college wasn't meant for everyone. Work ethics and good ol' common sense can carry you a long way in this world.

Even though I have a college degree, to me, common sense counts way more than level of education. Increasingly, having a college degree today means you've been indoctrinated, not educated - your mind has been closed, not opened.

I keep reading about Trump's "base" being primarily poorly educated white men. I'm curious if that is more MSM BS or if there is an actual correlation between education level and political leanings.

Feel free to leave comments/qualifiers/rebuttals below.
It is just a put down. Another lie from the mainstream media.

Let's say it is true.

Does this mean Liberal males are effete? Are they people incapable of fixing anything; of doing anything with their hands other than typing on a keyboard?

Are Liberals people who have never produced anything real or of value?

I always find it really interesting that so many people had a clear direction right out of high school. I tried college, twice after high school, hated it both times. It wasn't until 37 that I got my BS.

As my dad told me, the best job available during the Depression was to be a bank clerk in Mississippi. He drove a chicken truck. Through hard work, he ended up a Captain in the Navy and had 3 or 4 masters degrees from MIT.

Every Monday night (and some us were preschoolers), he would load the kids in the car and go to the public library for us to check out books. No restrictions on what you read. Every one of us would check out multiple books to be read and returned the next Monday night.

I have a near step son who never went to college. He started working when in high school. He builds buildings, homes for the rich and famous. He makes himself busy all the time.

Brother-in-law. Was failing arithmetic in elementary school. I told him he had a choice. The best choice was to go to the principal and ask for help. He went to the principal. He now has 35 people working in his construction company. Builds docks, airfields, schools. Never finished college.

You don't have to go to MIT or Harvard. They offer free classes on the internet.

That doesn't explain why professors are generally leftists and socialists, a lot closer to communism than us.
I admit it's just a theory, but I believe that college professors, and actors as well, are liberals because deep down, they realize they ... don't really do anything. They add nothing of value to the world. The world would never miss them if they simply disappeared.

And yet they get paid a lot of money for doing something so irrelevant. Therefore, they feel guilty and adopt these left-wing ideals to mask their guilt.

One telling piece of evidence that my theory has merit is the fact that the vast, VAST majority of liberal professors and actors who lecture us on how to behave immediately immunize themselves from such commands. "Walls are racist," "guns are terrible," "stop global warming" as they live in great neighborhoods behind walls, with armed guards, and fly private jets whenever possible.

AOC has an Economics degree from Boston University; and she's an imbecile; so there you go.
A college degree is all well and good and certainly shows some level of dedication to finish the required course work. However, a college degree is not evidence of significant intellect, and likewise the lack of a college degree should never be considered a lack of intelligence. You know what Newton, Einstein, Tesla, Mozart, Edison, Goethe, Galileo, Plato, Curie, and Da Vinci had in common? Apart from being 10 of the smartest people ever to live? Zero college degrees among them.

Same for Henry Ford, John Stuart Mill (who basically developed the theory of modern capitalism and individual liberty), Liebniz (mathematician and contemporary of Newton), Voltaire, Shakespeare, and on and on.

Thread winner! I saw a lot of stupid in college. Some the smartest people I know, did not go to college.
