Not sure where this mark is coming from (Sorry about the pics as they're not too clear) but I can wipe it off and it comes back after about a day or so. It's not a scratch and I'm just not sure what it is...I know it's not a big deal but I was just curious if anyone else had this...It was that way when I bought it. Again, I know its silly and inconsequential but...

it's right between the Austria and 9x19 mark...

Only thing I can think of too but it's been carried in one of those cotton chest holsters so I don't think that would do it..

When a Glock isn't shot enough, that mark mysteriously appears. Put about 200rds down range and I'll bet the mark is gone:supergrin:.

That is just the factory weld to put the two pieces together like a Springfield 1911. :tongueout:

Don't listen to these doofs, that is the spot is normal. All the rest of the Glock has too much finish. That little streak is where the finish is the correct depth.:whistling:

Some of the shine has rubbed off. On the current production Glocks the whole slide has that dull look. Your gun is still protected by the chemical process that Glock uses.

I have strange marks on the top of my slide. It's just a color variation in the black coating they coat the slides with. It's not a big deal.

I have a similar mark, but mine is on the top of my slide. I can try and wipe it away when cleaning but it comes right back. I thought at first it was just from grabbing it in the same spot, but who knows.

Uneven finish on that area and the toll marks look heavier than normal. With the high demand over the last year perhaps there's been a lapse in QC?

I know that's mean and I would hate for someone to say that about my gun! :tbo:

My G19 (bought brand new) has basically the same kind of mark but unfortunately it's a bit more pronounced and more toward the front of the slide on the other side. I noticed it within about a week of owning the gun and I'm a bit more anal than most because I've been pretty ticked about it- at myself for the possibility that it's something stupid I did or that it came like that and I didn't notice it. I can say for sure that at least on mine, and like I said the marks are freakishly similar, that I know for a fact it's not from holster wear because I had never put mine in a holster when I noticed it.

Looks like a rub mark, its were something rubbed on the side of your slide. Is this a safe queen? You don't have marks on any of your guns? Most guns that are used have marks, finish wear, nicks it's what I call character. If you carry a gun expect it to age. If it's a collector piece, which a third generation Glock 19 is not, use gloves, and don't shoot it.

Good answers guys...It won't be a safe queen so I guess it's the first of many character marks that will show up :)
