I guess the real question should be, "What do you use for time?". Bought a new wristwatch. As I was getting ready to set the time on it, I noticed that the time shown on my phone and the time on my laptop differed by four minutes. The phone is four minutes ahead of the laptop. Both systems are supposed to update automatically....so why are they different?

According to Google and the Atomic clock, the laptop is correct; and the smart phone isn't all that smart.

familyman357 I'd be more cynical, but my apathy prevents it.

Assuming you're in the United States, whichever time matches this:

It’s time to stand up for your rights given to you by God and the constitution.

It’s time to stand with like minded patriots and vote out all of the enemies of the US we have in public office.

It’s time we stop listening to puppets who are paid to entertain us.

It’s time we hold the media responsible for their blatant lies and untrue propaganda.

It’s time we hold our educational institutions responsible for their socialist/communist indoctrination of our children.

It’s time my friend, it’s time.

With all that being said, if the OP had only purchased an atomic watch in the first place, that watch would be accurate all the time. All he'd have to do is pick a time zone and forget about it.
    Here's a good one. Yeah, yeah, I'm a G Shock whore!

Alright, you made me look. My computer and my Waveceptor watch and my iPhone display exactly the same time to the second. My Motorola Android is 4 seconds behing those 3. I'm not going to worry about 4 seconds.

I set my watch by the clock in the calibration lab at work. It's linked to the National Bureau of Standards.

Agreed! Smart phones are not smart at all.
That said, my phone, iPad, MacBook, Mac Pro, and Apple Watch all match exactly.

I suspect a problem with your flux capacitor.

It's strange but my 2 phones have 2 minute differences. Same carrier, different numbers.

I'm retired so I don't really care what time it is. Best watch I ever had was an old Timex, almost 10 years with EMS, both ambulance and ER. Took a licken and kept on ticken. It cost me something like 8 dollars, finally got rid of it as the winding stem was warn smooth.
