I don't have a Mod 42 but I have been carrying concealed for work and for my own protection for about 40 yrs., including front pocket carry in cargo shorts in warm weather.
My favorite by far is the Greg Kramer horsehide front pocket holster. There are many good makers but for my needs I find this one to have the best concealment characteristics, the fastest release, and great stability and pocket retention.
I generally carry old S&W Airweight J frames, a '55 Colt Agent w/hammer shroud, or my "carry grade" Walther PPK .380 in the front pocket.
