    The problem with that is, and always has been that no one has ever been able accurately date the Chinese rifles , at least to to the satisfaction of the BATF....as a result, save for a few notable exceptions, you won't see Chinese SKS rifles being listed as C & R....

    Retailers have been selling Chinese SKSs as C&R.

    None in stock now, but Classic Firearms sold a bunch of them in the past.

    Atlantic sold them too.

    I'm sure I've seen some other retailers sell them, but those are the two I knew off the top of my head.

    Those would be the "notable exceptions" I mentioned; they were of limited quantity, and they fulfilled some very specific requirements, most notably that they sat for at least 20 years in a neutral country;

    We have not imported Chinese SKS rifles from China in almost 30 years.

    I propose that the send us their rifles again, and we'll return their virus.

    *These recently imported Chinese SKS rifles could have been manufactured in December of 1998 in China, exported post haste to our friends in country X, and immediately stored away there for safekeeping in January of 1999, and although they wouldn't be eligible for C&R status they would be eligible for importation into the US in the year 2020. It's reported that over 10 million Type 56/-1/-2 SKS rifles in total were built by China so they're not rare, and I'd venture to guess that not many are museum pieces either, so these recent Chinese SKS's that were allowed into the US after being stored in a "neutral" country for over 20 years must be known to have been produced over 50 years ago to meet the definition of Curio & Relic.
