I only know of the Cajun dude pictured above who endorses CCI .22lr ammunition.

Probably shotgun shells to be loaded in a "bang stick".

The .22 and .22 Magnum are quite popular with alligator hunters.

The Florida rules for alligator hunting only permit shooting as a coup de grâce after the alligator has been subdued by other means. If hunters use guns as the primary hunting tool, the gators sink, and the meat is lost. Regular guns are not permitted, only bangsticks. So you use harpoons, bows, gigs, etc. with a line to hunt with, wear out the critter after an hour or so, then move in with the bangstick.

I know some people that only use/used .22's.

I just wondered how the Battalion Chief identified the exploding ammo in the garage as " alligator hunting ammunition ".

I certainly agree with that, but the quote seemed to come from the FD BC. It would seem to be a stretch for a journalist to even think about inserting " alligator hunting " into that quote.

    IDK :headscratch:

That was the reason for my original question.

I've never killed a gator with anything but my bare hands.

I've never killed one with my bare hands either.
