I'm looking for a AK type rifle for plinking/home defense. I just want something that is reliable and can hit beer cans at 100 yards. It needs to accept high capacity magazines. As long as it is relatively well made and reliable, the cheaper the better.

A plus would be if it had a synthetic or synthetic folding stock.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Chris, check out AIM Surplus . They have WASR 10's, they are priced pretty good. I just ordered one on Firday.

You're going to have a problem getting an AK in CT. Our badly worded and written assault weapons ban bans AK type weapons, which has been interpreted to mean anything that is called an AK and anything the has interchangable parts with an AK and is chambered in 7.62x39.

Yes, I just found this out yesterday after doing some research. AR-15s are no problem, so maybe I'll save up for a Bushmaster M4.

    Thanks for the replies.

That's not entirely correct, either. Colt AR-15s are illegal. Non-Colt copies of AR-15s, like Bushmaster, are not.

Why is this? Because the *******s who write law in this state are a bunch of no-talent *** clowns who are not qualified to run something as complex as a weekly knitting club, much less a state.
