What have you done this week to prepare? Training? Supplies? Organization? ETC? You know the drill, this has been going for years.

Blew my last gift card on four boxes of buckshot, a box of 20 gauge for my rossi combo that will be left at my BOL, bought another oil lamp and some oil, hand warmers, and some .40 in a 100 rd pack.

Putting the finishing touches on my large Bug-Out-Box which will be left at the BOL.

    1. Rang in the new year with the wife, friends, and neighbors as one of them had the New Years Cul-de-Sac party.

    2. Slept till 11:00 am.

    3. Had breakfast with the wife and played with the doggies.

    4. Surfed the net for a while.

    5. NY strip steaks on the grill, Maine lobster tails, corn, wine.

    6. Sitting on my ***** watching football and looking on xd-talk and glock talk.

Over all a pretty good day.

In 2009 I got myself an ICOM IC-706MKIIG so I could finally get on HF. But I never set up a shack, so it has sat on a table in my basement.

My wife suggested that perhaps over the holidays I get my antenna up and set up my ham shack. So I spend the afternoon putting up my 204 foot G5RV, and then start running the coax through the window into the bedroom we use as our office. Then it starts... "Why does it have to go through the window, how is the screen going to fit, why did you not check with me first... etc... Bottom line she would not tolerate my set up even for a temporary deal so I could get online for a couple of hours tonight.

So to answer the question.. I got an HF antenna is up. I guess now I have to figure out where I can put my shack that won't tick of my wife.

    Women! LOL

Drill a hole through the wall. I put up a 4 foot stick to increase my wifi around the neighborhood and just drilled a hole right through the wall and caulked it. I brought it in through a closet.

Shelf broke on one of my back-up pantries in the garage. So I unload both shelving units and replaced the little plastic shelf holders with steel angle irons all around. Then checked all of the "Best By" dates on all of the packages and cans, and re-organized the shelves. Threw away a bunch of expired food.

Got an MTAC IWB holster which I like better than my Tucker Answer for Glock which I have always been thrilled with.

    Took my wife shooting today.

Some new things for new years..
Me and the girlfriend just agreed on a new savings budget which was really nice.

also agreed on a new meal planning strategy to use/rotate through some of stored food
and cut down on the # of meals we order out.

    started a new workout regiment.

took my nephew out for a fun training day.. he got to shoot ar's, ak's, 1911, glocks and he had a great time and his skills are improving greatly.

I love getting the family on board.

Went to Basspro and found 1k LP & 1k SR primers, 4lbs Unique powder, some .45 projectiles, leatherman bit kit, and a pair of cheap binos on clearance to toss in the glove box.

Tonight/tomorrow - fill out the order form to get my LEO discount RAT-3 and have the gf fax it when she gets into her office in the morning.

I still need to get to the range and try out my newest .40 handloads so I can get production started. I need to track down a few thousand pieces of 9mm brass too, I loaded up all the ones I have.

Bought three Hurricane lamps, extra wicks, and lamp oil from the local ACE hardware store today. The lamps were $12.99 each. Already had a couple of propane lanterns. Thinking of buying a smaller version for my patio table and burning citronella oil this summer.
