I start one of these threads every once in awhile because you guys always point me in the direction of good books. The past few months I read the Hunger Games Trilogy, Game of Thrones series, and reread Patriots: A Survival Novel. What have ya'll been reading that you would recommend? If it's good I'll read it. I don't have a genre I stick to.

A fun read from last year was George Friedman's The Next 100 Years. The book is as much if not more history and current events as looking into the future - truly a fascinating book.

Do I think the next 100 years will play out the way Friedman says - who knows, but I do know I have a different, (broader, deeper) perspective of the past, present and future after reading this book.

Fate Is The Hunter by Ernest Gann. I'm now going to read The Art Of Racing In The Rain by Garth Stein for the second time in less than a year...it's that good. HH

Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose. It chronicles the Lewis and Clark expedition. It's a fun read so far.

If you want to read stuff that has already been made into a movie and that may have additional movies made based on them, check out the Lincoln Lawyer and the other books in that series.

The Jack Reacher series from Lee Child. They vacillate between entertaining and terrible, but overall enjoyable.
