What in heaven's name has happened to Lifelock. It used to be easy to login and check acct. Now the login gets you a dozen or more attempts to get you to subsxribe to Norton. Gag! They are now as bad as AT&T and direct TV. Gag!

That's because a few years ago, it was acquired by Symantec- who also own Norton.

I lost interest with Lifelock after their CEO got hacked 13 times, and the FTC fined them for $100M for false advertising and failing to adequately protect customer's info.

I have Lifelock. They informed me a couple of years ago that someone was trying to use our credit info to buy a car in a neighboring state. I ended up speaking to a Lifelock representative, and to a rep from the bank where the loan was requested. We put the ka bosh on that.

LifeLock is a scam and has been from day one. They do nothing you and your bank/credit cards can't do together.

Lifelock was bought by Symantec, which was bought by Broadcom, which was bought by Avago Technologies... which seems to have a lot of ties to Singapore.

Found it, Huawei and Symantec had an alliance but apparently it has since disbanded.

One of my sons was a computer forensic investigator for a State government AG's office. His opinion was that LifeLock and others like that were a waste of money. He did recommend, however, instituting a "security freeze" with the three major credit agencies.

Lifelock was always a scam. They kept violating various US laws and court orders so they moved their telemarketing operations to Canada.

Their biggest proponent was Rush Limbaugh. he was big on them.

When I dealt with financial fraud I would see (rarely) credit reports where the customer had their actual phone number come up to verify. I think it was Equifax on ones that I saw, but this was maybe 8 years ago. You can freeze credit reports with some work.

With that being said I never did anything like that. I just check my credit with Experian, Equifax and Transunion yearly. I have never had anyone try to steal my identity that I am aware of.

I dropped LifeLock as soon as the CEO/Owner of Symantec went public stating he was anti 2A and went on a rage about nobody should be allowed to own a gun. Made sure every time I got a renewal notice from LifeLock letting them know my reason for dropping them.
