I'm not really into engraved handguns that much but this one really does it for me. What do you think.

I'm with both of you guys. Each time I click back into this thread I like it more. In some ways, the kinda' "plain" look of a Baer really makes it an engravers canvas.

I'm usuall not keen on pistol artwork, but this is tastefully done. However, Les should have left off the front slide serrations as they interrupt the filigree.

I like it, but would do away with the front cocking serrations.

The engraving is beautiful, but somehow I think that manufacturer's marque should be less prominent. I usually don't like engraving on silver colored guns.

I know what you mean, I went back three or four times before I finally saved the picture. I think the grips add a bunch to the overall look. The guy that owned it traded it to Benny Hill for an open gun. :faint: Anyone want to venture a guess how much the engraving like that would cost.

It is a Les Baer, so it is a shooter as well. If it were mine, I would still shoot it.

This guy wore two engraved Colt 1911s.

“To name my favorite gun is easy: for 35 years, Colt’s .45 automatic pistol is the only side arm I have used, It was the first pistol I ever shot. I used a Colt .45 auto for three years in the Marines, five years with the Dallas police, seven years in the Teas Highway Patrol, and 20 years in the Texas Rangers. I like it because there are eight shots instead of six. With modern ammunition, .45’s have metal piercing ability. When I use a rifle, it is a .30-06 Remington pump. I wear my engraved, silver grip .45’s loaded and cocked, with safeties on
