accdg. to PB Dionisio management, the Philippines is included among the countries the European Union bans the importation of firearms, ammunition and spare parts. they can't import anymore from CZ. If they will bring it in through a middle man (through another country) masyado na mataas ang price. they're trying to find a way to bring it in pero yan ang sinabi nila since 2 yrs ago pa!

So pag naubos na stocks ng PBD ng lahat ng mga european firearms brands nila, patay na! you're on your own to look for spare parts!

ok.... nice info.... but why do we still have glocks around? Austria is part of Europe right? Not part of the European Union?

    Doc EC,

Any idea or info regarding why our country is blacklisted by the EU? Could it have something to do with the "terrorist organizations" that use the Philippines as their base of operations?

Edited to add: I found these links while searching the web for info:

    http://www.armscontrol.org/act/1998_05/wb2my98.asp

    http://www.armscontrol.org/act/1998_05/eucd98.asp

The links outline the EU Code of Conduct on Arms Exports. From the second link, perhaps Czechoslovakia is concerned about our dismal human rights record, as well as the internal stability of the country and the presence of terrorist cells here

This paragraph from the first link bears noting:

National discretion. So, does anyone have close connections to the powers that be in the land where CZs come from? ;)

Why do we still have Glocks around? Probably because of the "national discretion" clause -- perhaps Austria deems it okay to export to the Philippines while Czechoslovakia does not. Just speculating here. It would really help if we could get firsthand info from the official distributors of these two brands in our country.

si mannix and judge nabalian ng slide stop ng cz nila dati. kung hindi pa sa scrounging powers ko e di wala tayong nakuha!

pero right now, mukhang malapit na masimot mga stocks nila. i think the same goes for SPS products

Wait...did some snooping online, found out that Glock is handled in S.E. Asia through their Hong Kong arm...so I doubt that we'd ever get a Glock shortage. :D

*Source: Glock.com, just go to the about us and keep clicking about the company until the page with the HK arm comes...or if you're lazy...

so that's probably the reason why glock austria can get around the eu ban.

Almost similar case in 2002. Some crazy Pinoy got caught in the States trying to smuggle hundreds of CMC magazines to the Philippines. The FBI investigated several US dealers and CMC had to momentarily stop shipping parts to the Philippines
