As I get closer to getting my CCW, I become more and more curious as to what people carry on a regular basis. Are there those that bought a mousegun and wish they had picked up something with a little more punch? How many of you opted for the fullsize majesty of a 5" 1911 and ended up regretting it, thinking that a subcompact would be better?

So, what do you guys carry and do you wish you had gone a different route? Also, if you find yourself regretting your choice of carry, for what reason? Too big? Too small? Feel that you would be better off with a 15 round G19 than the 5 round snubby?

I have a few different guns I carry. My main guns are a Sig P239 in .40 and a Sig P220 Compact SAO. My BUG/Pocket guns are 642, LCR .357, and CM9. I like having choices, but I only carry single stack semi's and snubbie wheelguns for CCW. Some people here carry 1911's, G17's, Beretta 92's and other full sized guns, but I could never conceal those very well.

I have carrying a bunch of different guns over the years, but recently...

A Glock 27 IWB in a Fist, Inc ultra-think kydex (Beltman belt)

Ruger SP101 snub nose in an AKJ Concealco IWB.

Soon...a S&W 66 snubnose in a Tucker Gunleather IWB

I like the snubbies for their natural curves, which tend to not print as much.
I like the subcompact Glock for the higher round capacity and faster reloads.

Holsters and belts are the key to being comfortable and concealed.

I have a couple that I carry. One doesn't do it all. Mostly I carry a Glock 26 or a Kel Tec PF9.

What I carry depends largely on how I'm dressed. But regardless, weight is a big consideration for me and my poor old back. A 35 oz .45 is about as big and heavy as I'll go. A G19 is a dream and is about the most firepower per ounce you can get.

I was carrying my G19 till I got the G26. That extra barrel length on the 19 did poke a bit for IWB carry while the 26 has been great! I like the double stack, higher cap mags that Glocks have over other guns of similar size. I haven't found the slightly wider grip to be much of an issue for carry, but well worth having the extra rounds!

I bought a mouse gun (LCP) for warm weather and and I don't feel like I am "under gunned".

That being said, I do prefer my Glock 19 for cool weather when I can cover it up so much easier.

I am saving a few bucks every week for a Gen 4 Model 26 though. The 26 seems to me to almost, (I said almost) the perfect carry gun.

I think most are better to go middle ground. Get a midsize whatever you choose auto or revolver. Anything too big or too small will have alearning curve and possibly make you less apt to carry it. I think the 4" model auto like those from Glock Sig, M&P or 1911 are a good first gun and a great balance of concealabilty shootability and power.

I started with a G23 and have stayed with it primarily for 11 plus years.

Sometimes a Glock 17. Sometimes (when I can't carry) a Ruger LCP.
Sometimes a Ruger SP101. Sometimes a Kahr T9.

Those are the 4 I seem to have in rotation now. A few months from now it could (and probably will) change.

cm9 and a g19 depending on the weather and wardrobe. I will say that smaller cm9 is more comfortable for me, and tends to go where I go more than the g19. Plus, that thing holds 8 rounds of jhp 9mm. Sure doesn't seem mouse-y to me.
