while working on a mold for the hybrid holster i'm working on i decided to try my hand at making my first all kydex holster....

the model for this one is my father in-law's .38 special Derringer.... i told him i was going to make him an IWB out of kydex for it and he requested a J-hook with very little play in it.... i think it turned out pretty well and the retention is pretty good too.... it won't fall out when loaded and shaken upside down but draws fairly easily....

    what do ya'll think?

Looks good but I don't see the point of carrying a derringer IWB.

he wants to carry it but is not a fan of pocket carry.... he wears a lot of slacks with a tucked shirt so this allows him to carry comfortably and keep it out of sight....

Looks good Josh. I was thinking about trying my hand at some kydex holsters, but if you're doing it as well as your leather stuff, I'd just be wasting my time:) Seriously, if your kydex is as good as your leather, it will be good stuff for sure!

    Josh,
Looks great. You may want to take the corner off by the muzzle. IDK, it just looks a bit pointy in your pictures. If the shake test did not dislodge it, it should be great for IWB carry.

I have done the same on some fixed blades for IWB.

    Ok.

I have obviously not handled the holster so, your father-in-law (the wearer) has the ultimate say on its comfort.

Overall the holster looks great. Very clean work with no things that visually stick out as possible discomfort increacers.
