1950, my dad bought me a 1935 Chev coupe (IIRC he paid $28 for it), a bit rusted out at the bottom of the doors a few problems with the electricals and brakes....but who knew, the car and I were both 15 years old...used it to drive to Lake Mahopac where I had a little 14 foot boat and motor...
I had this in Putnam Valley NY where we had a summer cottage.
^^ One like this. My Dad ,brother and I did a ground up restoration on it and I drove it maybe five times before my mother told Dad to get rid of it before I killed myself. I ended up driving a 1965 Rambler station wagon. tom.
This. 1955 Ford Crown Victoria. I settled for a 1952 Ford Custom Line.
78 Transam. I now own a 74 T/A 455 but it's not show worthy. I do enjoy driving it though.
Didn't know it as a restomod back then, but a modded '63 Split Window Coupe - candy apple red with knock offs and side pipes. I'm not a fan of mixing options between year models, but it was my initiation into the vette world, which I've never been able to shake...The '63 Split is one of my grails which I have yet to add to the very small collection...I'm running out of room in the garage...
Wanted, but talked myself out of it as I never liked dealing with electrical issues. But still...and I did own several others already posted.

That's a familiar story...
I restored a 1986 Datsun 280Z 2 seater 6 speed Tranny for my daughter and my wife drove it and said NFW! Sold it to an Oral Surgeon and made a few Grand on it. I bought her a new KIA Sorrento this was in 2003.
