I would like a new .40 cal. I have 3 Glocks (two 9s and a 45) and love them but I was thinking something other than Glock. Any good recommendations?

get a G23. i love mine. great gun. plus you can add a 9mm conversion barrel or a 357sig barrel and shoot both of those calibers.

Love my 23, it’s one of those, I’ll never get rid of guns! I’ve never owned a G22.

i have three currently, and recently gave another to my son in law.
one is an MP 40, one is an SR9c 40, and i gave away the SR40.
the one i recently purchased has impressed me the most, G22.
the others are fine weapons. accurate and reliable.
perhaps because of my fondness for the G20, G29 and G19, this one is just a natural fit.
    same trigger, same overall feel.

    Beretta PX4 Storm. It’s the .40 that shoots like a 9.

    Good stuff! I have never considered a ruger before. Perhaps I should. I see g23 has a lot of fans. I have a 19 so I didn’t necessarily want a 23.

My two Ruger's have Galloway performance parts installed! The triggers and recoil will blow your mind! They both have close to 5k rounds thru them and have had 0 malfunctions!

    Gen4 23. That’s what I have plus a 9mm and 357Sig barrels for it.

    The best 40SW Glock is a Gen4 G31 (357SIG) along with an OEM G22 (40SW) barrel.

Or do it the other way around starting with a G22 and a G31 barrel. The problem with that is when you try 357SIG and inevitably decide never to use any other handgun weapons caliber again just like 99 and 54/100 percent do, what I suggested first leaves you with a 100 percent kosher G31 with correct rear sight, ejector, and caliber/model markings. :)

FWIW, Underwood 357SIG 125-gr JHP leaves my G31 barrel at MV=1565 fps and ME=680 ft•lbf, and my G33 barrel at MV=1410 fps and ME=552 ft•lbf.

+1 on the Ruger SR40. Great trigger and easy breakdown. Plus it fits my Glock 17/19 holsters. I also have a Glock 23 that I like. My other .40 is an XD Service model and it is also a great shooter. You can't go wrong with any of them.

Another vote for a Gen 4 G23. A close second would be a CZ P07 in .40. Both make excellent carry guns.

My preference is the G27 with a Pearce plus 2 base plate. I carry the standard 9 round magazine as a back up.

Can’t go wrong with an older Sig 229 or HK USP.

I like the HK P30/P30L in .40 quite a bit. Plus the prices of all the HK hammer guns have dropped to reasonable levels.
