Just transfered a hard drive from a previous computer to a new one.

Now I'm getting a message that my "key" is no longer valid. Neither Manufacturer, or Microsoft have been ANY help. What can I do?

Register by phone with M$ the validation process gives you a phone number to call. Give them your original CD-Key and tell them which parts you swapped, they will give you an activation key.

No they won't; I tried that.

They told me that once I put a Gateway HD into a Asus Machine I was in violation of "Something?!"

No there is nothing that you can "legally" do except buy another license for Vista to put onto the new computer.

Windows OEM licenses (the ones that come with store bought PC's) are not transferable. Unless your Asus machine has a product code, you're going to have to buy a new one. :wavey:
