I traveled to my favorite gun store with all intentions of buying a G20 SF. And they had two of them to choose from. Maybe it's just me, but I take it as a bad sign when your gun store doesn't carry ammo for what it sells. Let's just say it says something about availability. Called Wally World--no joy. Called other LGS...they have it sometimes @ 22.50 a box for reloads. Long story shorter, I came home with a new Gen 4 G23 that I don't want or need. Presently unfired with three mags, box, etc. I really don't know why I bought that thing. Just felt sorry for it maybe. Anyway, if ya' want one like that for what I've got in it, PM me. I am so tempted to go shoot it, but I like the sound of "never fired." (except for what Glock did) Oh well.........

Man i hate that. A few years ago i wanted a ruger 10/22 so bad but nowhere around me had one avalible. So i got a Remington 597 instead. Needless to say i hated it and was stuck with it for over a year before i could sell it for anywhere close what i paid. I have my ruger now and am very happy

Go trade it for the G20SF!!!!!! I'm sure you will lose a few bucks, but maybe not if you have a good relationship with the LGS. Yes, 10mm ammo may be hard to find in your area (not mine, but that doesn't help you), but it makes up for it. It is SUCH a sweet shooting gun, and the first time you shoot some hot stuff, you will be giggling like a little school boy. Go back, get the G20SF.

Congrats on the G23! I bet you will still pick up a G20 at some point. But, the G23 Gen 4 is an awesome pistol as well.

Agree w/ what 21C said.

Plus, the 10mm AUTO, literally, chooses its user. It's a cartridge you have to want to shoot and really get into it and not be lazy about. :whistling:

Or, you can sit back and enjoy the unfired ghey-ness of the .40SwisheyWalker.

In fact, the 10mm AUTO is the only "service cartridge"
that comes with its own government-mandated warning:

What trouble did you have, with the Remington 597?

Trade up, and get a .40 barrel. And then get a few more barrels for it.

If you have other Glocks, than adding a G20 in your collection is just an extra fun toy. Despite the caliber supply, the .40SW is a great alternative choice.
With a barrel change you can fire .40 out of a G20.

Oh, ouch... Thanks man, my G22 is sitting in the corner weeping now.
:tongueout:

IMO, I'd keep that 23 man, and shoot the hell out of it. Just save up and get the 10mm later. My first Glock was a 23, and I traded it. Wish I hadn't, that was a helluva sweet shooting gun.

There is plenty of 100 mm if you look online. Go trade it back. Im sure if you are a good customer they will treat you right. Then get online and buy some 10mm...ask the sporting goods mgr to get some 10mm at wally they may do it for you.

Don't shoot it. Go buy the G20 and wait for the ammo Fedex. IMO. My towns gun store doesn't have 10mm either. Online it's about the same price as the .45. Reload your own and it's cheaper.
Maybe the best way for him to do it would be to first buy assorted 10mm ammo online, from various sources. Then, at some point it's a guarantee he'll be driven back to buy the G20 after staring at a stack of Double Tap 10mm's and wondering what it's capable of. He'll also have no worries about ammo availability because he'll already have a supply, and he'll know how to get as much as he wants by then as well.
