I've seen this called 'the bungee' drill elsewhere, looks interesting:

This can be done with handgun at 7 yards, or rifle at 15 yards. Any sights or optics allowed.
From low ready, you will have 2.5sec to engage a 6" bull twice, then 2" bull once. So bangbang.....bang.
Both bulls, the 6" and 2" will fit on a standard piece of paper (8.5×11) so there's minimal disparity in the transitioning from one to another.
We'll do this 5 times. So course of fire is 15 rounds, 10 on the big bull and 5 on the small one.
Scoring will be like last month (year) challenge, smallest sum of the two groups wins.

    20200101_104416.jpg
Shots must be within or touching the bulls.
    Good luck!

    Ede: Ruger 10/22 2.625
    JCN: CZ w/.22 conversion 3.16"
    Berto: S&W 422 4.88"
    'Slayer: S&W 63 5.25"

What about hits outside the ring, Does that disqualify the target?

Nice job, Slayer. I think this will be a good application for the 422.

If you don't have a timer, I'd just try it as fast as you can, and just note it wasn't timed.

For me, the 1,2 is very quick, just a flash of the front sight as it is near, gets into, the rear sight. The 2nd of those shots isn't really aimed, but more just part of the double tap. Then as quickly as possible get a full aim on the 3rd shot, and shoot as soon as aligned (with no time for a re-alignment).

Anyone else's results will vary. But if no timer, that process indeed takes all of 2.5 seconds for me :)

Since I ordered a spare 22LR version of my competition gun, I’ve been shooting more 22LR.

This challenge was right up my alley.

    3.16” total.

Handgun entry with S&W 617 with a comp and CMore shooting CCI Blazer. I had multiple targets where I threw a round outside the circle or in the wrong circle. I figured out to put the target dot where I wanted to aim not hit and fixed a lot of my problems. My best target here is 3 .125".

My rifle entry with a Ruger 10/22 with a comp and CMore shooting Eley Force. It was unreal easy doing well with this rifle. My best target was 2.625".

I got a couple tries today, missed small dot one time on first effort.
    Better second time

Tried it with snubby .38 too, but dropped a couple on the small dot, was erring low to avoid hanger clip.

    So I'm in for 4.88"

Your avatar. One of my very favorite westerns, and I have it on DVD, "The Wild Bunch". Must have watched that movie 1000 times. Don't bother with the TV version, they cut out the 'wine bathing' portion. :dancing:

Right now, January 29th, we're still "bunghole deep" in white stuff, but it should turn green by August, so I wanna try this. [IMG]

Me and a friend did it. Mostly him, I did some of the rough machine work and bought the tools for it. Here is my other one with irons.
