I know there was just a thread asking for wedding song advice a couple weeks ago, but I also want to know what song the bride walked down the aisle to, what the 2 of you walked back down the aisle to, first dance, garter toss...any song that was played that was personally picked out. I have tons of options, but I hate making decisions so any help is appreciated. :wavey:

I left the father/daughter song up to my parents to figure out. For anyone who's looking for a father/daughter song, here is what will most likely be my daddy's and I. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otOiO7nKywU&feature=player_embedded

If you're going to do the typical "Don't do it," save it...I'm the bride and I'm sorry I'm better than any woman you've ever met, but I'm not going to feel sorry for you. I just automatically assume the whiniest guys are the ones that screwed up the biggest and since you aren't happy, you don't want anyone else to be. If that's not the case then I apologize, but there's still no need for you to hate women because you picked the wrong one.

    Really fellas?

Anyway our opening dance was "Head Over Feet" by Allanis Moresette (sp)

    Our close out dance was
    "Your Love" by the Outfield.

    Good luck

My favorites have always been, "I Don't Care About You" by Fear and "She ******* Hates Me" by Puddle of Mud.

All joking aside, you'll catch more flies here with honey than you will with vinegar. HH

At a buddy's wedding, as a groomsman, I was made to be the sober one so I could police all the other groomsmen and make sure they didn't do anything stupid. I caught one of them trying to get the DJ to play "I want to "ef" you like an animal" by Nine Inch Nails.

    CBM,

congrats on the wedding. . . It will be 15 years this year for my wife and I, and although not everyday is perfect, we love each other more and more everyday.

Our first dance was: The Eagles "Love will keep us alive"
My mom and I danced to: "a Song for my Son"

I forget the name of the song my wife and her father danced to, but he passed away 6 years ago and recently i came home and my wife was crying and that was on the "VCR". She was missing her dad and threw the wedding video in to "see" him again.

When my daughter gets married (far into the future), I want this song to be the father/daughter song.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zqAXILUk5Q

When my wife and I got married she walked up the aisle to "She Moved Through the Fair". It's an Irish folksong with a bunch of different variations. I can't look it up on Youtube at the movement because the site is blocked from this computer.

Thanks for the real replies guys.

And for the record, I do have an attitude and I need it to get through my life. My fiance is a grunt..he's doesn't care how I act..the only reason I put that in my first post is because I'm so sick of someone being excited to marry someone they love and all the miserable guys come in here and throw fits. That's not fair to anyone who makes a thread like this. It's pretty obvious if a title includes wedding, what it just might involve, so either learn to not click the threads or read and leave. Simple right?

    bruno you shush up

I told my fiance we were going to have this for our first dance.

In all seriousness though, I think Garth Brooks-If tomorrow never comes or George Strait-I cross my heart are both good wedding first dance songs.

"Up Where We Belong" by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes is great either for your walk down the aisle or for when you both walk back down together.

Kind of fits too, because your fiance is military.

    Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world where few hearts survive
All I know is the way I feel
When its real I leep it alive
The road is long there are mountains in the way

Love lift us up where we belong
Where the eagles fly on a mountan high
Love lift us up where we belong
    Far from the world below
    Where the clear winds blow

Some hang on to usued to be
    Live there life looking behind
All we have is here and now
All our lives out there to find
The road is long and there are mountains in my way
But we climb the stairs everyday

    Chorus

Time goes by no time to cry
    Just you and I alone

Sorry, I've already been married once...but here's what was used:

Coming in, Trumpet Voluntary by Clark:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lTTWraugCI

Coming down the isle (after the vows), I used Mendelssohn:
    http://www.filestube.com/df433b2f5e09ad5203ea/details.html

The only other song I had played before I came in the church was "All I ask of You" from Phantom of the Opera:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h43VhgiYQgI

The neatest wedding I went to had a lone trumpeter playing the theme song from "Dynasty". It was the neatest thing ever:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXKa...4E797429&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=39

ETA: I did this for my FIRST wedding. I won't jump through all the hoops the second time (which is coming very soon). We are doing a destination wedding instead. I can however, understand why a bride would want to do this sort of thing, especially if she's not been married before.

Since nobody said the words verbatim, DON'T DO IT!!! There, now it's been done. Moving along now...stay away from the usual wedding march. It was actually written to mock the bride and I kinda giggle every time I hear it played. Trumped Voluntary or Canon in D are good alternative wedding marches IMHO. I really like you choice for the father/daughter dance, I was going to puke if you said Butterfly Kisses.

    My picks:
March in: Train, Hey Soul Sister
    Exit: Jason Mraz, I'm yours
First dance: Heaven by Bryan Adams
Garter toss: Jump by Van Halen

I listened to Orla's version, very nice.

Only if she's Debra Winger and her fiancee is Richard Gere. The whole Officer and a Gentleman thing is long played out.

It's still a good song with fitting lyrics.
