Suggestion to the powers that run Glock Talk.
Why can't we have two columns (what ever they are called) one for Glocks Only,
after all this is GLOCK TALK. And another for all other
firearms for sale. I try and read the firarms listing at least
3 or 4 times a week and it sur would be fast if all the Glocks
    were in 1 column.

    :soap:

If you agree or disagree reply, maybe something will be done.

    ;? ;? ;? ;? ;?

I was thinking about proposing two sections also. One for long guns and one for handguns.

I have been thinking about suggesting this as well. I would go with three forums, Glocks, Non-Glock handguns and Long Guns. There is just so much traffic that it becomes a vicious circle of people posting BTT to bring their add back up.

go to the firearms for sale section. at the bottom of the page, type "glock" into the search field.

it will take you to the hidden glocks for sale forum.

Seriously, I think that dividing the firearms listing up can help some of us who are looking for a long gun or handgun, but do not know exactly what they want. If someone knows they want a rifle, they can view the long guns section and see what is on the market.

We all know that the firearms listings is a very busy section with one day's threads lasting for several pages.

    Just a thought.

I'd almost prefer to have all the firearms lumped together and expand the search capability - perhaps configuring it so that you have to enter a state abbreviation and a gun classification (or whatever could be done within the limitations of the BB software) in order to post an ad - etc - that way you can search for - all the glock pistols, non glock pistols, rifles, shotguns, or by region or state.

And another thing (in that vision I have) would be to have quick search'es either stickied or in text boxes displayed somewhere prominantly at the top of the forum to search for all glock pistols, search for all rifles, etc...

Having said all that - it seems to me to be a shame that outdoorbidur.com couldnt reach critical mass and get rolling. I think that the auction site format in the long run is really the way to go, and its a lot easier for the buyer to find what he's looking for.

While we are discussing the want ads - what are your opinions on allowing replies in the ads? At one time it was a no reply area. Trust me, it was a lot easier to moderate :)

I think you should be able to post feedback (somewhere somehow) on a seller (or buyer), but I dont think that want ads should allow responses. What are your thoughts?

i think you'd have a dozen of the same posts, b/c no one could BTT; therefore, they'd repost.

then searching for things would be frustrating

    Good point.

Plus, I think responses are a good way for a seller to answer a question once in public rather than in a dozen PMs or emails.

I think it's better to have them.

another reason to allow replies is b/c sometimes people get information (model, type, etc.) wrong about the type of firearm they are selling. there's always someone willing to help and point out the flaw (which is good for other potential buyers and the seller).

    Yep.

This is my thinking. Long arms in one. Handgund in another.

Well, as long as we're talking about dividing it up how about splitting up revolvers and autos, so's I don't have to look, at those ugly Sigs anymore??? ;f

Seriously, though, I do prefer the forum to the auction format specifically because with a forum,:
    1. A question is asked and answered publicly
    2. Feedback on sellers is posted afterwards ("Thanks!" or "hey...!!!")
    3. Other users have info on the item, even if not purchasing it
