I have about 100 lbs. of lead, lots of flints, and plenty of black powder, so I can do all the shooting I want.

500 rds of .22 for $140? So, one 50-rd box would be $14?

    Is that a good deal?

Wasn't that the price for 9mm not long ago?

I don't reload and I shoot all I want. Bought it cheap and stacked it deep the last couple decades.

Once the dust settles pick a closet in your house and fill it with ammo.

No, because it’s not “after the dust settles.” After the dust settles they will be wherever they were sold before.

Nah, I can load it tons cheaper than shelf ammo and dial in loads for individual guns.

Reloaders are more paranoid than the panic ammo buyers. Primers run out and return later then ammo.

Great. Glad that works for you. Just saying it is not about reloading or not reloading. It is about stocking up before the panic.

You can have the greatest reloading set up in the known universe and if you do not stock up on components you are as vulnerable to the supply chain as everyone else.

I feel pretty comfortable with my ammo stock and reloading supplies but yes, I too consider my flintlocks the ultimate survival tools.

And we have been preaching "buy extra ammo" for how many YEARS? Eleven is a conservative number. There are those few that are young and had no chance to legally buy. For the rest of us, no sympathy.

    Finally made 1000 posts
A note from the other side of the fence:

I've been buying since 2004 and have more of a lot of calibers than I'll ever shoot. But I'm not shooting much because even when in the catbird seat, I don't like shooting what I cannot replace.

I will take a day off, and go to the range November 2.

A box of 500 rounds of 22LR, a few months ago, was on sale for $19.99. Normally $24.99 a box. $140.00 a box is NOT a good deal.
Shop around. Do a google search,

One of my local gun shops is selling Belom brand (first time I'd ever seen it) 9mm FMJ ammo for about $19/50 with a ten box limit. They also have several varieties of high-grade 9mm defense ammo for around $1.50/round.

I was able to buy one box of 9mm for $11.00 dollars but they were only selling one box per customer.

Why did you not buy 500 rounds of 9mm or 45 a year ago ?
