I don’t know. My mags that I mentioned fits my Maadi and my WBP Jack the same. Talk to AoA and see what they say about it.

I would avoid trimming the receiver and find mags that work. I have had the same experience with some AKs.

Korean made surplus mags have been the best fit in my experience - they fit all my AKs unlike other mags.

Huh. My experience over many years has involved commercial production rifles, kit builds, and even a home made screw build on an ITM receiver. None of them had any issue whatsoever with any milspec magazine, whether metal surplus, plastic surplus, or commercial plastic.

Yeah I wasn’t planning on touching the receiver. My thought process was that the rifle costs way more than the mags lol

All import AKs are brought in as Sporter rifles, single stack magwells, no pistol grip. They're cut by the importer/distributor/ manufacturer/ someone to the form that looks tactical and desirable.

You are lucky if your AK fits the mags.

Just took out my calipers. Those steel mags are a millimeter wider than the us palm magazine. The dimples are the issue.

I measured my mags. The US Palm mag fits both my Polish Jack AK and my Maadi AK the tightest. My guess it’s the length of the mags.

I find your situation to be very weird. It looks like your other mags are in spec or as close to whatever spec is. Like I said, the US Palm fits the tightest in both my Polish AK and my Egyptian AK but it’s the narrowest of them all. So it’s got to be the length of the opening. But I don’t know as I don’t have your AK to look at. Just very weird!

I think AoA needs to look at it. Something is very weird with it. Take a few more pics of it from the bottom so we can see if it’s hitting anything.

Take the top cover off and take out the bolt carrier and see what you see from the top as it’s trying to go in.

Can you actuate the mag locking lever as you are trying to put the mag in? Just from what I can see the magwell looks wide enough.

Yes I can, the mag still won’t lock in.

AOA got with me earlier. I replied but I haven’t heard anything for 3-4 hours. No big deal. It is Sunday. Hopefully they’ll reach out to me tomorrow. They need to look at it, something is definitely off.

In my opinion, your rifle needs to go to AoA so they can take care of this. I believe from what I can see, the magwell is wide enough. I think it’s the length of the magwell. But I’m only going off of what I can see.

I agree. Just a little frustrating considering how expensive the rifle is. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long to get fixed.
