Personally I would have ended up starting the service for her while she entertained.
15 years+ in Restaurant and Hospitality... No Prob.
The BIG problem is they start asking me over so that I can help with food service...
And... the Tips *suck*...

Dear Miss Manners,
I went to a dinner party and while the meal was delicious, the hostess shorted me on my beverage.
She filled the glass so full of ice, there was hardly any room for the drink itself.
Not to appear rude (or worse a drunk) by asking for more, I spent the evening sucking ice.
Do you think she was rude or just a cheapskate?
In the future, do you think I should carry my own flask (concealed, of course) to nip at discreetly?
