I don't know if it is even worth going local with a photo of the GPS and speed and plate. It probably is better to send that directly to the DMV. They would probably permanently revoke a driver's license with evidence that solid. :whistling:

Again, how would you measure his speed?

So you want to send Cops proof you were speeding... In order to report someone else speeding...

dammit TBO, if a citizen is in Hot Pursuit of a hardened speed demon you know damn well he has immunity from traffic laws!

seriously though, stop making sense. You are impeding the right of all the neighborhood wannabes to act like billy badasses. They are just trying to help you do your job after all......

Would you care to render a professional opinion on "accidentally" throwing something at a car?

That's what I was trying to get him to say, but apparently it didn't fit his super-citizen fantasy.

It's a crime in my state, and in most others as well.

2 quick areas in my state laws-

Under littering, there is a subdivision on " throwing/depositing injurious/harmful object in roadway/at a motor vehicle.

There is also- Criminal Damage To Property,
and of course Disorderly Conduct can apply as will.

So you're going to send the cops a picture of YOUR GPS screen showing YOU speeding? Not to mention the whole thing would be your word against his even with said pictures.

Also, the geniuses talking about throwing trashcans and balls at speeders, and putting boards with nails in the road, are the ones who are going to be doing some explaining to the cops, especially if someone crashes because of it.

Now see, here I thought the popo would just roll up and thank the thrower for slowing down a speeder and then go do a felony stop on that guy going 4.2 MPH over the limit.

You learn something new every day.

Seriously though? No commendation letter from the Chief even? Damn.

Some people never get over the "run and tell the teacher" thing.

I would call for backup just to have a witness. No one would believe me.

I've worked plenty of calls where people have wrecked while playing with their toys while driving, they don't get much sympathy. Someone like him would get straight up laughed at.

Not if he had the extra plates duct taped to the back of his vest.
