My wife was a travel agent. Frequently she would be told that a flight was cheaper on the internet through some third party cheap seat site. I'm not talking Expedia or Google.

Her response was always the same. "When you get stranded remember not to call me. Just dial 1-800-INTERNET."

We have friends that fly as cheap as possible. (They could afford first class). Frequently they get cancelled, complain they are always late and moan about paying for anything extra.

He spent 9 hours on the tarmac in Ft. Lauderdale the day of the shooting. They rationed potato chips and the toilets overflowed. He still fly's this airline! Saves around $90.

Also NO WHITE SNEAKERS...they are too "American", and keep in mind THIS IS THEIR COUNTRY, THEIR RULES...Fit in, don't be THAT OBNOXIOUS AMERICAN.
Whatever happens..Go with it, have fun...get in with the locals in local places NOT AMERICAN CHAIN HOTELS. ZIMMER FREI room available in a local home...
We were "into" renting an apartment and staying a few weeks in a city, Paris, Florence, Rome, Venice, Cinque Terre, etc.... best times ever....

I recommend flying on ANA (United for the domestic, if needed. It’s a package) and premium economy at minimum. Much better accommodation for a long flight, plus you get to enjoy the ANA lounge at Narita airport before flying out. Great food and open bar!

if we’re both still here when you get around to it, hit me up for info on things to do, etc. we go every 2-3 years.

We’re actually planning on the first part of next year, but we’re doing all the planning way in advance.
Maybe we’ll run into each other. Lol

We would love a cruise like that, but all that open water gives us anxiety. Lol
I’m not even about boating at the lake. Lol

Open water is not a problem, you are on a ship that is 1000 feet long! (Yeah, I know, I've seen the "storm pictures, they are VERY few of those....
We have done "crossings" ( re-positioning ) cruises..there is usually enough going on on board to keep you busy on sea days..It's a great way to get a "taste" of Europe.. Especially if you don't feel comfortable travelling on your own....
