    I have a Ibanez RG 320DX I bought back in '99.
It's been sitting in the case for a couple years now and I got it out the other day and I was surprised how well it still plays.
But I have decided to upgrade the pickups. I have had a Dimarzio Super Distortion sitting here for about 5 years, and I plan to stick that in the bridge position.

I want something for the neck, and that is my problem.
There are tons of good sounding pickups out there.
What would you go with? Why?

    Another Dimarzio?
    Seymour Duncan?
    Something else?

    You guys have any suggestions?

My main choice of music when I pick this guitar up is stuff like Paul Gilbert, ya know, basic shred stuff.

I will be playing it though several different pedals.
A DS1 for that Satriani sound, a Tube Screamer for crunchy CCR influenced stuff, and I'll add a chorus and delay for Eric Johnson sounds.

It shouldn't be too hot, I want the highs to be able to cut through and the mids and lows not to muddy up when I use the neck PU.

I'm not into heavy heavy stuff like you hear on the Ozzfest stages, if that helps you any.

Yes EMG 81 in the bridge position and like an 89 or 85 at the neck.
