I was in WM today - as I walk past the ammo counter I see an employee!

So I stopped and ask if he had any deals on .223.

He says - yes I do - but I don't know what they are yet - I am finding out the new prices as I print the price labels - the only way I can find out the price is by printing the label. The clearance starts today.

He said I will do the .223 next - come back in a few minutes.

So they had 100 round boxes of Federal .223 55 grain FMJ for $25 each -

I grabbed 4 of them - not the lowest price ever - but a solid deal on Federal brass case - for about what steel case would cost.

They also have 9MM on sale for $15 / 100 rounds Federal brass or aluminum (same price) 115 FMJ.

I have 9 boxes that I paid 39.98 for, near hurricane Charlie. You got a good deal.

Yup...I was in town this morning. If I'd know they were selling out a really good prices I would have done some Christmas shopping for brothers and nephew.

My ARs will happily eat all the low cost brass ammunition I buy.

They don’t care where I buy it -

It is not Federal’s fault WM decided to make a business decision to stop selling some items.

Enjoy the savings. When the Walmart CEO basically stated that he didn't need/want my business, I'll oblige when I can.

I bought my Federal ammo in bulk online. All good.

Their morality still seems messed up:
"We don't want our ammo being used for violence...so before we stop selling it, we're slashing prices on it so you can buy more of it!" ??

How is that any different from a drug dealer who says "I have seen the error of my ways. Drugs are evil. I don't want to provide these deadly poisons anymore....but hey, for the next month, they're on sale for 20% off!" ?

I think WM made a business decision-

Political influence involved - yes 100%

I don’t see the morality angle - nothing immoral about selling ammo.

Corporate virtue signaling and I imagine wanting to minimize negative press.
    Risk management to them.

To me, I see it as a victory for the anti’s being able to successfully pressure WM.

It ( ammunition) is now slightly less normal and mainstream than it was before.

So I’m standing in WM waiting on Conner with the key now for Twenty minutes. This is the first time I’ve been in a Wally World in a few years and definitely the last. Thanks for the heads up OP. 0F6259E2-B5EC-4EE1-B088-12F5F5A1F713.jpeg

Gladly... i`ll end up with more ammo per dollar than you will.
After they stop selling ammo, i`ll be buying everywhere else that every other person that had shopped at walmart for cheap ammo.

Should bite your nose to spite your face ;)

Discounts aren't huge. Maybe between 13-25%

From what I can see . Know about WM pricing- those are the old prices.

Unless it is different store to store.

After I bought my 400 rounds for $100 the guy printed a label for the 150 round boxes of the same ammo,

He says- these are an even better deal than the 100 round boxes.

I think - crap I should have waited.

So I say give me 4 of those too - and start to pull my credit card back out.

Then he says the were $59 now they will be $49.

Well I was a CPA in another life and was ok with basic math - and for about 2 seconds
    I thought WTH?

Then I say wait - are you sure about that price?

I just paid $100 for 400 rounds- 2 of the 150 round boxes will be $98 and I will only get 300 rounds- that is not a better deal.

The guy thinks about it for a second and says you are right - why are they pricing the larger boxes at a higher cost per round?

I say because math is hard.
