with absolutely no intention of buying a gun, but we all know how that goes. I was in columbus, ga yesterday looking around the army surplus shops killing time when i decided to ride over to shooters, a local shop and range. Walked in and within five minutes I was fondeling that g27 that ive wanted for so very long. I Wasnt going to buy it until i looked down at the counter and saw that they provide the discount for fire/ems/law etc... The guy told me it would be 440 before tax and all and I whipped out the ole credick card and took her home. I have been wearing it in a smart carry all day and really like the size difference between it and the g23 I usually carry. Man I cannot wait to shoot this weekend. I will try and put up pictures of the family up when I decide on what rig I will try next...suggestions welcome. thanks

Congrats ! I have walked into gunshops with no intention of buying and ended up seeing something that "I had to have". You know the rest of the story.

Congrats. I love my G27 too.

I got my G17Gen4 for that same price and I'm not LEO/EMT/Fire, thanks to GSSF!

It depends if you buy from a distributor or a dealer. Ed's is a distributor.

Which could buy ammo or extra mags. I agree, he was charged to much.

Some shops are not official but give their own flavor of discounts. ;)

I think the price was good and it is a good gun. What's done is done and as long as you arent broke from the loss of $40 or so, shoot til your fingers and hands bleed!! Have fun and congrats on the purchase.

Thanks for the replies, to Governer yeah I tried it out all day today at the house to find out how I would like it, if I would have went anywhere Id have swapped it out for my 23. About the discount, yeah I asked why they werent selling for 398 and the salesmans reply was something to the effect of them getting from a dealer in NY...I guess he was talking about shipping or what not but I was too busy looking at my new toy to pay much attention. I probably would have paid the 540 sticker price so either way I feel I came out on top. anyway so whats yalls rig of choice?? I want something thinner than my desantis but who knows I may end up using the smart carry and just wearing it higher up around my waistline and shifting it over to say 2 oclock...

I use the Smart carry all the time. For my 27 I carry like you suggested. Higher @ 2 o'clock.

Same thing almost happened to me on Friday. Walked in to the shop to pick up a couple boxes of ammo for the AR, and in the counter are these 2 beautiful trade in G26s for $360 before tax. Looked like they just came out of their factory cases and placed on display... but I promised myself no new toys until I quit smoking. :crying:
