This just makes me shake my head. Right in front of news cameras.

Are all cities like this these days??

"The empty shelves at a Walgreens Drugstore in California were not caused by pandemic-related panic-shopping. The store is closing because of what local reports are calling a spree of “rampant shoplifting.” Moments after an Inside Edition crew arrived at one drug store, a man was seen jumping the counter to take an airbed and walking away without being asked any questions. There are lots of YouTube videos capturing incidents like these at other Walgreens stores."

Our world can NOT operate when people blatantly disregard the important laws. This is SERIOUS and needs to be addressed ASAP. I'm not a "rule follower", but I follow the important rules. Mayor Giuliani showed us how to run a city and make it work - the broken window policy. Why are all these mayors refusing to learn this lesson?

There was a time when theft was prosecuted and deterred.
Of course, prosecuting any crimes against blacks is part of our legacy of systemic racism, as is taking and showing a video of a black man stealing.
Did I get that right, BLM?

Nothing new here.

Shoplifting is not considered a crime worthy of being punished by most people.
1. blister packs do not work. The shoplifters break the blister packs in store restrooms and jam up the toilets.
2. every grocery store in my area puts baby formula under lock and key behind the service desk.
3. recently, a few stores have converted to having all of the hard liquor stored in locked glass cabinets.

Corporate Policy: Observe and Don't Interfere.

Free-for-all, for the criminals. What did Walgreens think would happen?
That’s the policy of the City of Los Angeles. In essence, you can walk up to a truck used by the Street Dept. and drive it away. That includes everything less than that, meaning carry away a tool box, SCBA etc.

I thought that california had sunk so low that theft of less than a certain amount, I wan to say less than $1000, won’t even be prosecuted. I may be wrong.

It's crazy! I visited the Walmart in Lancaster CA, and it seemed that almost everything in the store was in a locked case. Booze, razors, formula, diabetes supplies, electronics. You name it. And the cops had two of those multi-camera trailers operating in the parking lot.

I'd have a hard time living in a community where I couldn't trust my neighbors.

About 15 years ago a shoplifter got caught at our local supermarket, and he shot and killed 2 employees. It wasn't long after that when the chain adopted a policy of non-interference with shoplifters. If I remember correctly the 2 employees were killed for a couple of steaks.

Socialism at its best. Marx would be proud.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need."

The end result of course is all the stores go out of business and the government needs to step in and be the ultimate provider.

You don't think that's the plan?

Government run food and drug stores are just around the corner in some areas.

Proves Walgreens is racist. They are leaving a drug store desert (as opposed to a supermarket desert) in that neighborhood. People paying for things is just a concept of Walgreens white privilege. Allowing people to just take what they want is a small price to pay for being properly woke. I'm boycotting Walgreens.

Everything will be delivered. Need a bail of toilet paper, it'll be delivered? A couple of cans of soup, some laundry detergent, etc.? It'll show up on your door step. Things are moving that way already.

Of course porch pirates will become an even bigger problem.

When the groceries all close and pull out due to theft loss, there's nothing left but KFC and White Castle. Obesity and diabetes skyrocket...and NBC's lead story is "Racism Causes Poor Health In The Black Community." HH
