Hey all. Festus and I are meeting for dinner in Waldorf Friday? night.
I'll be working the match on Saturday and shooting on Sunday. It would be fun to meet up some of you folks. I'm local, so if anyone needs anything, please ask. So, who's up for dinner at Damon's in Waldorf?? Or, maybe Hooters??? :)

Saturday,I'll be working the registration table at the Glock M as far as I know. I just spoke to John Richardson, match chairman, last night. I told him that was where I wanted to be. So look me up when you get there, my name is Bob. Also, if anyone gets lost, the range phone # is: 301-645-1148.

Lexington Park is way south in Maryland, where the Chesapeake meets the Potomac. Good place to get seafood.

I went for the fried platter - a crab cake, scallops, shrimp, oysters and white fish. Perfectly cooked.

The three women at the table next to me ordered a mountain of hard shell crabs (upper right). They were about half way through when I shot the picture.

There's a whole bunch of places to eat in Waldorf, so let's not confuse everyone. I also work in Lexington Park, so I know all the seafood places...but I'n alergic to seafood. So, unless anyone is alergic to the steaks at Damons, or the waitresses at Hooters, let's keep it simple and stick with plan A.
Festus is driving 12 hours on Friday, so let's say about 7PM at Damons. That will give him some extra time. For those who don't know, Damons is attatched to the Holiday Inn in Waldorf. Hooters in one block south of Damons on the Northbound side of 301.

Festus is retreating to being a teenager.

The last time I saw him he "was at his back in college weight"

    I don't know if I'll make dinner.

It was just my thought, coming 12 hrs to the "Shores of the Chesapeake Bay" we could do better than a plastic chain that he will pass 50 times on the way here.

At the Marietta GSSF match I ate at Damon's the service was the worst and the food was (Kindly) mediocre.

The "Waitresses" don't make the food any better.

Some of the best meals I've had have been served by "Maxine".

I realize, when getting a group together, sometimes plastic works.

Note to Festus; Wear your hat so I'll be able to recognize the "kid".

I am back just under 290 and still limping.

FWIW, I've had good service at the Damons in Waldorf. YMMV.
However, there's still many choices if you guys prefer something else. Ruby Tuesdays, Lonestar, and Outback are always good.

As far as the waitresses go, you're correct. But, the food at Hooters has always been great,IMHO. So much so that my wife likes going there too. But, I live here and can go anytime. So whatever you guys want is good with me. Just keep me informed.

    From another Waldorf local:

Longhorn's. Route 301 Southbound side. GREAT steaks. Incredible marguaritas, especially the "Desert Pear Marguarita"!!!
Probably the best steak in town!!!! Definitely the best Marguarita!!

Lefty's Bar-B-Q. Route 301 Northbound side, Pinefield South Shopping Center.

Randy's Rib Shack. Route 5 (Leonardtown Road) Hughesville.

Johnny Boy Ribs. Route 301 Northbound side, LaPlata.
    GREAT Bar-B-Q!!!!!

Lastly. . . if you can't get a meal in Waldorf, you aren't in Waldorf.

One word of caution. . . AVOID at ALL costs. . . Red Robin. Food tastes good, but, everyone I know has gotten 'ill' shortly after eating there.

Lethal...Festus just phoned. He's delayed, won't make dinner tonight. We're planning dinner on Saturday night, details to be discussed at the match. Whatever you guys want is good with me. See you Saturday. I should be working the "M".

An apetizer of buffalo wings and potato skins. Then a salad followed by a 16oz prime rib! HUMMMM GOOD! Apple Crisp ala mode for dessert.
Sorry you guys missed it. Looking forward to Saturday.
