Folks, I've been coming to Waldorf since May 2000, but this may have been my last visit. Same old story. Some Waldorf RO's continue to disregard instructions and extablished procedures and run their stages as they see fit. The 5TG was once again a disaster on Saturday. Hopefully things will be fixed by Sunday. Attendance appeared to be way down from previous years. Could be because of last year's problems on the 5TG, because the Saturday weather was perfect. Maybe I'll volunteer to manage the 5TG if I return next year. The Glock M was run perfectly, thanks to the helpful RO's. It was good to see so many old friends at Waldorf. That continues to be the best part of GSSF. Scott Gilbertson did a fine job as a one-man show. Glock reps Doug and Tony were on hand to keep the pistols functioning. Waldorf now has a food shack, which is a really nice touch. Several mail-in preregistrations were received late in Smyrna, due to the USPS. I don't think entrants should be penalized for poor performance by the USPS, but they were. If GSSF wishes to increase membership, I think GSSF should show a little more flexibility with pre-registration. Gaining a $10.00 late fee at one match may well cost GSSF a $25.00 entry fee at the next match, and that will be bad for our sport.
